Subject: Please help support Lydia Kou for State Assembly

As you know, voting has started. Now more than ever, we need and ask for your support.

If you would kindly spread the word about Lydia with your friends, neighbors, neighborhood associations, book club, wine club, band, and most importantly email list, we would greatly appreciate it!

Please let everyone know why you support her. What is it about Lydia Kou that makes you want her in office?

I can tell you why I want her in office:

First off she’s my friend. And it’s not just that, it’s important to know how we became friends. Lydia was serving as the Palo Alto Vice Mayor. We met over the debate of my neighborhood’s beloved Driftwood Market and Creekside Inn being demolished and turned into apartments. The proposed apartment complex was going against every zoning law imaginable and to make matters worse, a 600sq. ft. apartment was going to start at $4500/month. I am a renter and that is way beyond my budget and for 600 square feet?!? Anyhow, we became friends bonding over the monstrosity of new proposed buildings and audacity of out-of-town builders tearing our towns apart.

I also want her in the office because she sees the whole picture. It’s going to take more than just building overpriced apartments to get homeless off the street. They need wrap-around services, those who don’t have mental health illnesses but can’t afford more than an RV need job training or help finding a job. With the influx of new apartments, what is happening to the trees and wildlife that will be displaced?  What about the increase in traffic?  Etc…

My background is law enforcement. The increase in crime is horrible. She is paying attention to that and how it is affecting not just big business but small ones as well. How do we get people to stop stealing? How do we protect the merchants? How do we recruit more police officers? The questions that deserve answers go on and on…Anyhow, I could go on and on. But the bottom line is this: I trust Lydia Kou. How many politicians can you say that about?
